Your own convictions and responsibility do not end at your own front door. That is why Morga attaches great importance to implementing its convictions along the entire supply chain. The following points are considered critical and Morga's attitude is defined, practiced and demanded from suppliers accordingly:

Social / ethical criteria

Child labor

Morga does not use products that have been grown, harvested, processed or packaged using child labor. It must be ensured that no children under the age of 14 work in the entire supply chain.

Forced labor and slavery

Forced labor and slavery are not permitted throughout the supply chain. This includes not only the collection of passports or other means of pressure, but also the more modern exploitation, often used in developed countries, of people who are forced to work abroad due to the poor situation in their home country and are not employed in accordance with national law (harvest workers without rights).

Discrimination

No discrimination whatsoever is accepted along the supply chain of raw materials. Exclusion on the grounds of gender, religion, political views, membership of a minority group or similar is not tolerated and is actively combated throughout the entire supply chain.

Unlawful confiscation of land

Throughout the entire supply chain and across all parties involved, it is ensured that the raw materials have not been grown on land that has come into current ownership through illegal land confiscation. Regulations must be drawn up on the measures to be taken to prevent unlawful land confiscation.

Occupational health and safety

Compliance with local laws is mandatory. In countries with regulations lower than the European or American standard, additional measures must be taken in line with European regulations.

Protection from torture

Growing countries in which torture, in whatever form, is used should be avoided.

Right to a fair wage

A fair wage must be ensured for everyone involved in the process at all stages of the supply chain. This is based on the calculations of local NGOs or Fairtrade calculations.

Trade union and assembly rights

The right to defend oneself, to assemble or to organize is also given in countries where this is not explicitly regulated by law.

Ecological aspects

Causing harmful changes to the soil

The use of harmful pesticides that are banned in Europe is also avoided in EU organic and conventional produce. Overexploitation, the use of fossil water sources or other harmful changes to maximize profits are not permitted.

Water pollution

Local laws must be complied with. Chemicals or other harmful substances are disposed of separately and professionally if there is no wastewater structure and regulation, unless they can be dispensed with completely.

Deforestation and conversion

Cultivation areas may not be located on land that was cleared after 1994 (primary and secondary forest). The clearing of areas with a high conservation value for agricultural use is prohibited.

Emissions of harmful air

The emission of pollutants into the air must be kept as low as possible. Possible drying steps are operated with renewable energies wherever possible.

Adherence to the core values described above is of central importance to Morga and it is expected that the entire supply chain of raw materials that Morga uses for its products are produced according to the same convictions.
