May – the month of celiac

The IG Celiac is a non-profit organization that takes care of about a carefree gluten-free diet. Celiac disease, the intolerance to the gluten, is the most common small bowel disease and occurs according to studies to follow at around 1% of the population. Gluten are contained in many cereals such as wheat, barley, spelled and rye. Today, new forms of gluten sensitivity occur, where the symptoms of celiac such as gastrointestinal complaints occur, but no gluten intolerance is diagnosed. Those people also benefit from a glutenfree diet to bypass the typical symptoms.

The month of May is dedicated to the gluten-free diet. The IG celiac plans and coordinates during the whole month different activities around this subject.
