Last Friday, our journey took us to Thurgau and Heiden.
After we have strengthened us with coffee and croissants, one group made it to Weinfelden where the carton production of Model, which is our supplier, was visited. It was very interesting to see which way the recycled paper makes, so that the raw material can be used for the production of paper and cardboard again. The automated carton production was also very impressive.
The second group went to Frauenfeld and visited there the package center of the Swiss post. Besides Frauenfeld there are two other parcel centers in Switzerland, in Härkingen and Daillens. Many interesting details have been given us during the tour – now, we know on what it takes to make a package its properly way to our home.
Then, the two car drivers brought us to Amriswil to the castle of Hagenwil, where we could enjoy lunch in a beautiful atmosphere. At the end, the owner’s family Angehrn told us the exciting story of the moated castle with its historic rooms.
Finally, the car drivers brought us above Rorschach to Heiden, where we were able to strengthen us in the garden terrace in glorious weather. A short walk in Heiden was later in the afternoon the last activity on this eventful and memorable day before we were chauffeured through the Appenzell region safely back home.
