Asian medicine with a long tradition
In Traditional Chines Medicine (TCM), the ginseng root has been used for more than 5,000 years as a universal remedy, in particular for strength and preservation of health. Red ginseng is considered to be the ‘emperor of royal remedies’ in Asia, a type of wonder drug that was previously reserved for only the most powerful and richest.
Area of cultivation
Ginseng grows mainly in the mountain forests of China and Korea between the 38th and 43rd parallel. Northeast China (Manchuria) has an ideal climate for growing red ginseng. Ginseng likes shade and in ideal conditions (hillside position, 400 m to 1,200 m above sea level, moderately moist conditions) it develops a particularly good root quality with high content of ginsenoside. The plants need 7 to 10 years before the roots have the necessary ginsenoside content for the ginseng to exhibit the demanded medicinal quality.
Harvest
The root is gently lifted from the ground and washed carefully by hand. This gentle treatment assures that the small, fine hair roots are not injured. The larger and stronger the roots and the more pronounced and uninjured the hair roots are, the higher the content of the active ingredient is.
Effect
Red ginseng (Panax ginseng C. A. Meyer) delivers the best root quality of all of the ginseng types by far with a wide spectrum of herbal ingredients and a high concentration of active ingredients. These ingredients display three different effective principles:
- adaptogenic effect
- immune-modulating effect
- antioxidant effect
The unique, natural active ingredients of the red ginseng root help our body to better cope with stress situations and everyday challenges. Because of the ginsenoside, red ginseng can balance, correct and normalize various body functions. This explains why vitality can be elevated and why the organism can be strengthened with red ginseng. Red ginseng is used primarily to combat the following conditions:
- decreasing energy
- concentration problems
- states of exhaustion
- general performance weakness
