Code of Conduct
Your own beliefs and responsibility do not stop at your own front door. That is why Morga places great value on
implementing your beliefs throughout the entire supply chain. The following points are considered to be critical
and Morga’s position is accordingly determined, lived and demanded of suppliers:
Social/ethical criteria
Child labour
Morga does not use any products that have been grown, harvested, processed or packaged using child labour.
It must be ensured that no children under the age of 14 are at work throughout the entire supply chain.
Forced labour and slavery
Forced labour and slavery are not permitted throughout the supply chain. This not only includes the collection
of passports or other forms of pressure, but also more modern exploitation, often used in developed countries,
in which people are forced to work abroad due to the poor situation in their home country and who are not
employed in accordance with national law (harvest workers without rights).
Discrimination
Discrimination is accepted throughout the raw material supply chain. Exclusion based on sex or gender, religious
beliefs, political views, affiliation to a minority or similar will not be tolerated and will be actively fought throughout
the entire supply chain.
Unlawful confiscation of land
Throughout the entire supply chain and across all parties involved, it is ensured that raw materials have not been grown
on any land, which has a cultivation area that has been obtained into current possession through illegal land confiscation.
Regulations must be made on what measures will be taken to prevent illegal land confiscation.
Occupational safety and health protection
Local laws must be strictly maintained. In countries with regulations lower than the European or American standards,
additional measures must be taken analogous to the European regulations.
Protection from torture
Growing countries where torture, in any form, is used, should be avoided.
Right to fair wage
At all stages of the supply chain, fair wages must be ensured for everyone involved in the process. This is based on the
calculations of local NGOs or Fairtrade calculations.
Trade union and assembly rights
The right to defend yourself, to assemble or to organise also exists in countries where this is not explicitly regulated by law.
Ecological issues
Causing harmful changes to the soil
The use of harmful pesticides that are banned in Europe is also avoided in EU organic or conventional products. Overexploitation,
the use of fossil water sources or other harmful changes to maximise profits is not permitted.
Water pollution
Local laws must be strictly observed. In the absence of a wastewater structure and regulation, chemicals or other harmful
substances are disposed of separately and professionally if they cannot be avoided entirely.
Deforestation and land conversion
Cultivation areas must not be located on land, which has been cleared after 1994 (primary and secondary forest). The
deforestation of areas with a high conservation value for agricultural use is prohibited.
Emissions of harmful air
The emission of pollutants into the air must be reduced to as low a level as possible. Possible drying steps are operated
using renewable energies, wherever possible.
Compliance with the core values described is a key issue to Morga and it is expected that the entire supply chain of raw
materials, which Morga uses for its products will be grown, processed and manufactured according to the same beliefs.
